We work with more than 70 woman and children from the townships of Cape Town, Gauteng and Durban. Our organization provides training skills to do beaded work, crafts and sewing.
- Today, we have 5 co-ops in the Cape Town, 1 in Durban and 1 in Gauteng– each with 5 members working in a professional and safe environment, close to their families, saving on the time and money they would usually spend commuting.
- The kids get trained to do cultural singing and dancing performances for conferences to help them earn money to buy stationery and sanitary wear for the young girls. The program also helps these kids academically by not only teaching them how to dance or sing but also educate and guide them to focus on obtaining good grades at school and good behavior.
- All products are hand-made by women-run co-ops, which means that every purchase of a V.K Innovations product directly translates into work for township women. Materials are ethically sourced. Our products provide sustainability, fair trade, and social empowerment.
- Our organization has managed to raise more than R1m for these women and kids since it started and managed to help out more than 70 families through medication, school fees, and basic necessity needs. In 2018 Alone we worked with the biggest conferences in South Africa e.g ICE, LMHI, IIBCC, IUMI, WCIM, etc.. And provide them with beaded lanyards, entertainment, and a craft stand
